a guide to participants

Initiated and convened by Business in the Community, the Business Impact Review Group is a group of companies who make the commitment to measure themselves, and to publicly report, against a set of core CSR indicators. They are the participants contributing CSR performance data through this website.

In taking this step, the organisations make a major commitment to measuring and managing their overall impact on society. They place themselves in a high profile position and are working at the leading edge of accountability and transparency.

Some of the participants have been working in this area for some time, and have produced several social and environmental reports. Others see themselves as being at the beginning of the journey. All of them, however, stand distinguished from the larger body of businesses who currently fail to report, and have no current plans to do so.

Visitors to this website are advised that none of the information accessible here can be taken to provide a like-for-like comparison or ranking. The participants are reporting against common criteria, not as part of any league table of performance.

The Corporate Impact Reporting website was launched in December 2001.

To find out more and to join the growing list of participants, contact Katherine Sharp, Senior Corporate Responsibility Reporting Manager, BITC.
