year 1 review

A year after the launch of the Reporting website in December 2001, we are pleased to report the key findings of our review among the initial group of twenty participating companies.

The key messages from our review can be summarised as follows - with the full report available for download on this page.

summary of key messages
The reporting framework of 55 indicators comprising three levels of progression provides a useful initial structure through which the participating companies can manage and report upon their corporate responsibilities.

The framework provides a basis for broadening links with stakeholders and expanding the scope of corporate responsibility reporting to take account of other developments such as the Global Reporting Initiative.

Participation brings together the work already being done by some companies into a more cohesive approach, focusing attention on some of the more neglected areas of corporate responsibility within their organisations.

Many participants cite the educational benefits.

Whether the Corporate Impact Reporting initiative has been a means of gaining an initial foothold, or helping to drive sustainability into business strategy, the majority of the founding group of companies claim to have benefited from the learning experience.
